Summer Busyness

Things have been busy. And I mean busy. With only a couple weeks left until Little Man starts back school, we’ve been trying to do everything left on our summer list. My lists are always very…ambitious. I way over plan things. Whether it’s what I’m going to get done around the house with a few hours to myself or what we’re going to do during summer vacation, I always plan for about four times as much as is possible to do.

As such, I am a bit behind on blogging. I have started over a dozen drafts, but haven’t gotten anything together yet. And I won’t even start on how far behind I am on reading blogs. But, we are doing so much around here. We’re painting and hiding rocks as part of the Kindness Rocks Project, doing science experiments, doing lots of artsy stuff, and are going lots of fun places. We’re making all kinds of memories! (And I’m fulfilling lots of orders for my little vinyl decal side thing, which is great, too.)

Here are a couple of quick doodles I did last week. Hopefully I’ll finish one of my drafts over the next couple of days and play a little catch up on reading y’all’s posts. I’ll probably wait until school starts back to do the next guest post doodle.

My husband vs. me. And, hey, arms that don’t look like penises!
They never take just one bite.

How is your summer going so far?

I’m a SAHM to two kids. When I’m not doing all the typical mom things (diapers, soccer, etc.), I like writing, reading, and playing games. Clearly I live the life of a rock star.

  1. I always felt a little bit guilty when I didn’t want to share my food, but really, they usually pick my absolute favorite thing to ask for a bite of. They never want to share my broccoli! Sorry about the tan thing but way to go on the arms! Making memories with your family is ALWAYS more important than blogging. Have a fun rest of summer!

  2. These last few weeks, not working, being with my family, have been some of the happiest times in my life, despite the cloud of grief that pops up now and again. I think this time, especially since it followed vacation, has been very well spent. I am the opposite of you (or normal me) right now — I have NO agenda. None. I don’t know when I’ll blog goodly again.

    1. I’m not sure if things will be more hectic than this summer, honestly! We’ll be on the road more, but I’ll also have some blocks of time to myself at least.

    1. 😀 Just explaining things a bit. It always amazes me how I think I’ll catch up on things in the summer and it’s busier than any other time of the year, haha!

  3. Yes, summer is busy!! I’m just catching up on reading blogs now … I get 3-4 days behind and then still don’t get to read everything I want to. I’m sure I”m missing good stuff. I can’t read it all, though!! Keeping up with blogging is getting harder and harder, but maybe it’s just the season.
Oh man, I hate it when my 4yo wants to eat the yummy expensive cheese I bought and thought no one else would like! Or when she smells chocolate on my breath that I thought I could sneak past her … and she says, “Can I have some of whatever you just ate?” *facepalm*

    1. I hear ya, I was reading some last night that were a week old. I hate getting behind, but I think most people I follow are parents and probably get it!

      Hahaha the breath thing 😀

  4. I’m clearly behind on reading blogs, too!
On our trip, the few dinners we ate out, I ended up sharing my food with Noah. The last time, I grumbled “I just want to eat my own dinner!” But next week on my girls’ weekend, I can eat all my own food!
