The last time the weatherman called for snow, we expected to wake up to a few inches. Instead, there was nothing. Later that morning, we got the smallest of dustings, but that was it. We were pretty disappointed, but not surprised, since in SC, winter isn’t winter so much as it is fall-spring-summer, with a handful of days cold enough to wear a fleece jacket and maybe a day or two where it’s so cold that school is called off. It’s all over the place.
The weatherman has been talking about snow this week, but my part of SC wasn’t expected to get more than a dusting if we were lucky. I didn’t think too much about it because of last time. So, I didn’t join the horde of people at Walmart going on a bread and milk run last night. Nor did I buy booze.
And then I woke up to this.
We’ve gotten about four inches so far, which is the equivalent to 18 inches elsewhere, so boom.
And, as the picture shows, it was mid-70s earlier in the week and now it’s Snowmageddon!

I almost thought the title was a quote from The Last Supper but that’s just my confused Sunday afternoon state π I’m all for a bit of snow but it seems cruel coming in March. Hope the thaw arrives quickly, Dmd π

Hahaha! Go figure, ours was gone by the end of the day (except for the snowman).

Yep we got this too! March is my least favorite month!

For real, it’s all over the place this time of year! One week shorts and tornado threats, then snow.

We’re forecasted to get 18-20″ up here in MA on Tuesday. Oof.

Wow! Be safe. Ours was gone by the end of the day.

That happened to us not too long ago (we’ve had a couple weeks where one day was close to 60 then 2 days later was 30s and snowing; hello New England!) I’m hoping this will be our last snow before spring really sets in!

We’re expecting anywhere from 6 inches to a foot, depending on which weather moron you believe here. No matter what, I’m ready with the most important supplies: cookie dough, chocolate chips, ice cream… … … I bake when it snows. What, am I doing it wrong? π

Our whole town would shut down for a week if we had that much. And I like your thinking!

We usually shut down for 4 inches or so. We might grind everything to a halt, even traffic on any roads, for this much. I’ll just keep baking. π

Same here in Charlotte! You know around here to go against what the forecast says. You’ll have just as good a chance at being right! (Our snow was gone by noon, though)

For real! Our snow was gone by the afternoon, except for the snowman. Oh well, at least we won’t have to cancel soccer practice tomorrow π

Right? We might, if the ground is soggy.

LOL! Yeah, snow in the South has a higher equivalent elsewhere, funny. Here in NJ we had 60s on Friday, and tonight it’ll get down to single digits – brr!!!! And a snowstorm forecast for Tuesday. Sigh. Spring? Spring? Paging spring!

Craziness! I’m glad it didn’t get that cold here, at least. And the snow is all gone now.

Enjoy! Bet it’s the first time you’ve been excited about 4 inches. This is the same storm that’s hitting us Tuesday night. Can’t wait! Though I’m kinda ready for warm weather now.

Hahaha! Aside from a snowman, there is no snow left on the ground now. Gotta love living in the South. Hope y’all enjoy it. Build an igloo again π

Every time I build an igloo it only lasts a few days before it gets taken down by Mr. Sun and Mr. Rain. It’s not out of the question though because they are fun to play in! When I think of snow in the south I think of Heat Miser and Snow Miser π

I live in Michigan and I’ve heard we might get anywhere from 3-7 inches of snow π kind of a big gap in inches but we shall see. I want the warm weather already!

Ours melted by the later afternoon, so there’s that, at least! Hopefully Mother Nature will be done after this storm.

We had 85 degree weather today here in our part of California. It’s too early for warm weather but I will take it over snow in the South any day. I remember when it snowed in Georgia, maybe 3 whole inches, and the whole place shut down for 2 days.

Yeah, we do like shutting things down. A few times, there was no snow, but that it was just too cold, and the shut down the schools. Luckily our four inches was gone by the end of the afternoon.

I’m in Michigan and we just got through a huge power outage then they called for 5 – 8 inches of snow. But, being Michigan we got a dusting but very, very low temperatures. And by Saturday we’ll have highs near 50 (not bad for Michigan in March)!

Whew! I’m glad y’all didn’t get much after that outage. The warmup sounds nice!

We left Oklahoma a day early for our family ski trip to Colorado to beat a “huge ice storm” that was coming. Never even saw a drop of rain!
